DDR2 FB DIMM

Data integrity is the most important factor when it comes to server modules. The tiniest information error such as a zero or one can cause a temporary pixel error or a yes to be interpreted as no leading to an eventual catastrophe.

Fully-Buffered DIMMs (FB-DIMMs) were developed to minimise the risk of undetected bit errors. As server modules, they are not pin-compatible with normal DDR2 memory. An additional data buffer, that the modules also get their name from, allows transmission rates of 3.2 to 4.8 GB per second.
